NS:CO Development
Designed and created by Team Mirage NS:CO began it's development in 1999 as a total conversion
for Quake III Arena. With the release of the
id Tech 3 engine as open source, a stand-alone version of NS:CO was made possible.
This version can be found on the downloads page of this website.
An attempt at a stand-alone version of NS:CO with advanced engine features, dubbed NS:CO gold, was started but due to a lack of time it was
eventually halted. A lot of effort was put into this new version and the code to both the game and the engine are available as open
source products under the GNU General Public License 2.0. Should further progress be made
on NS:CO gold by other developers, then there are a number of other assets (such as a new User Interface) that can be reactivated.
People interested in continuing the development of NS:CO gold should contact Team Mirage and check out the
sourcecode, which is availble on the Google Code Project Page.
